Intelle Construction Ltd (Pontypridd)

Origins

Having developed their management skills working for a major construction business for 10 years and then a regional construction business for a similar period, the founders felt it was the right time to start their own business, so they could develop a company that they could control and develop into a successful construction company within South Wales. They saw a gap in the market for good performing small to medium sized regional construction business and wanted to build a successful and profitable business with a reputation for delivery and develop project teams who are motivated to succeed. The challenges in starting the business included securing sizeable contracts to get them into the niche where they felt they would be successful; attracting good people that they can develop and will help grow the business; and persuading clients they had the ability and expertise to be their construction partner and giving them the confidence they were the right company to deliver their projects.

Success Factor

The key success factors included a determination from the directors to succeed and having dedicated and committed people in the business; having a strong local based supply chain who operate as an extension to the business and grow with Intelle; and working in partnership with repeat business clients and professional teams who are prepared to negotiate with a company who are committed to delivering successful schemes for the benefit of all parties involved and giving them no excuse for not wanting to return to use Intelle time and again in future developments.

The Future

Intelle Construction wants to ensure they maintain the levels of performance expected from the business in delivering successful projects for clients and grow steadily so that they maintain financial performance whilst ensuring they meet clients’ needs and achieve the safety and quality performance in everything they do. They are also looking to expand into other sectors such as healthcare, primary care and social housing.
