The main motivation over the first three years of the “Veezu project” was to ensure that Veezu was in the best possible position to lead the consolidation of the UK private hire market.

Our main challenges when starting the business

The UK private hire industry has and is continuing to experience a number of changes, in particular around new technology, new market entrants and industry regulation. Veezu firmly believes that it is very well positioned to adapt to and embrace these changes providing it with a key strategic advantage against its competitors.

Success Factor

Veezu embraces technology and effective technology lies at the centre of everything it does. Veezu has and will continue to invest heavily in its dispatch system and its market leading mobile booking application. It also has a strong management team both centrally and within the operational businesses and Veezu fully appreciates that a business’ success or failure is completely dependent on the staff that work within it. The introduction of an effective control environment is essential to the successful scaling of a business and Veezu has invested heavily in recruitment to ensure that it is in the best possible position to manage its continued growth. Finally, strong support from funders – Santander and Beechbrook Capital – has provided Veezu with the capacity, support and flexibility to execute its aggressive growth strategy.

The Future

Over the next five years, Veezu plans to continue and even accelerate its growth trajectory as the UK private hire market continues to consolidate and evolve. Veezu’s aim is to remain at the forefront of this consolidation, driving the whole industry forward through the provision of world leading services with a regional focus. This will be achieved through embracing technological innovation with continued investment in both people and technology, creating an environment where its self-employed drivers can maximise their earning potential whilst providing a class leading services to passengers.
