Track Training

Co-founders Malcolm Sanders, MBE, and Dean Sanders have many years combined experience running successful businesses in Wales and internationally and wanted to use this market and industry knowledge to launch a quality training enterprise specialising in lean manufacturing and offer companies a route to accessing skills grants. Their combined business acumen and knowledge and a strong drive to succeed, along with the expertise and commitment of its founding team, cemented the decision to form a new business venture in Wales, using a simple business model of delivering exceptional skills programmes delivered by a local base of highly experienced and trusted staff whilst offering competitive salaries and a quality service. This winning formula, along with significant personal investment, has resulted in a very successful business model. The major challenges faced during its first three years have been accessing finance to support growth, accessing skilled labour and the late payment of supplier partners.

Success Factor

Growth can be contributed to a specialist focus, listening to client needs and being flexible and, most importantly, delivering impact.

The Future

Track Training continues to work closely with strategic partners and key clients and was recently selected as only 1 of 10 training providers with Sector Skills Council for Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology (SEMTA) in Wales on a sector priority funding initiative. Its plan for growth over the next five years includes the appointment of key staff with specialist knowledge, developing and maintaining key account relationships, extending provision into areas of specialist and generalist skills need, developing a reputation for quality and impact, and continuing to support businesses to access grants for supporting skills needs.
