Origins

As a Chartered Surveyor working for several national companies at managerial level, the skills gained coupled with those from further study at Cardiff Business School gave Simon Clarke the confidence to launch Indigo 360 Ltd. With parents who ran their own business, it was inevitable that he followed suit and fully understood the importance of looking after customers to create repeat business. One of the major challenges was to obtain sufficient credit terms with key suppliers to fuel its rapid growth during a declining market. Suppliers at the time were contracting trade accounts so Indigo 360 presented a different prospect to them.

Success Factor

A clear business plan has been one of the main factors for the firm’s success – Simon knows where he would like to be positioned and constantly reviews on how to get there. At the outset, he also invested in attracting a professional team to deliver company goals and their dedication and hard work has paid dividends. Also, its investment in a commitment to the highest professional standards of quality, value, customer service and client satisfaction is second to none, evidenced by many accreditations including Constructionline, Achilles and an ISO 9001 QA accreditation which are prerequisites with many customers.

The Future

Established during a recession, the firm’s continued growth demonstrates its ability to operate efficiently and proactively within a reducing and competitive marketplace. Its aim is to build on the growth and success by securing more niche market work and entering into frameworks with regular and new customers to strengthen the business financially in readiness for an upturn in the economy.
