Trojan Electronics

As always when someone starts a business the main motivation at the beginning is to be as successful and as profitable as possible. Once the business starts new motivations are added in attempting to offer ever-improving levels of service to enhance customer satisfaction, making the business secure with existing customers and becoming more attractive to potential ones. Many challenges have been faced along the way, including the normal cash flow pressures, and searching for new business. However, Trojan’s biggest challenge came after experiencing a fire at its premises in Swansea only five months after start-up. The business implemented a disaster recovery plan which saw it up and running in smaller temporary premises within seven days, which allowed it to continue offering services to customers ensuring that the majority were retained. It also enabled Trojan to retain the core staff, a very important aspect of its operations as low staff turnover is highly valued.

Success Factor

Trojan’s dedicated and well-trained staff have played a massive role in the success of the business. Without their attention to detail, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained, the client base would not have been retained. The business also prides itself on delivering on its promises, which not only includes delivering on time, but delivering the right product/service at the right price every time.

The Future

Trojan will continue to increase its customer base whilst retaining current clients as this gives the business the solid foundations to continue to push forward. It will also introduce two new services to the Trojan portfolio over the next 12 months, including a factory shop, allowing consumers to purchase high quality, low cost refurbished IT & consumer electrical products direct from Trojan at prices often below 50% of the retail price. The other new service to be introduced will be in the form of a state-of-the-art CRT (TV & PC Monitors) recycling plant, as this will allow the firm to offer a true end of life management service through the recycling of the complete CRT product, and the capacity to recycle up to 300,000 TV’s and PC monitors.
