Emyr Evans

Emyr Evans was a full time farmer in Pentrefoelas where he started to buy the odd tractor or two and selling it on. One tractor developed in two tractors and business just developed from there. Problems such as cashflow occurred as the business grew and it became hard for Emyr to balance work between the farm and the new business. The end result was Emyr leaving the family run farm business to concentrate on the tractors. It is remarkable that the business has flourished given the challenges such as BSE and foot and mouth that have hit the agricultural sector hard in the last few years.

Success Factor

Emyr worked very hard in the early days when no other member of staff was employed but himself. Another key factor is the quality of the product and each tractor sold was fully serviced and valeted. In addition, customer care was paramount in the business making its mark in the industry – if any problem occurred with the tractor, then every effort was made in sorting out the problem.

The Future

Emyr Evans plans to expand his customer base over the next few years and plans are in place to expand the premises at Gaerwen. The firm will continue to sell quality new and used machinery to the highest standard whilst ensuring customer satisfaction is met at all times.
